James Joyce, Ulysses, Episode VIII - Lestrygonians. First appearance. Pale green wraps, a touch of damp which has lead to the covers picking up some pink ink; this ink passes through for a number of leaves with the damp (minor, no crinkling, very light staining), not reaching Joyce. Covers detached from the textblock and rebacked with a piece of tape. This was the first of 4 issues to be destroyed by the US Postal Authorities. After the inital posting of this issue to subscribers no further were sent. Number of copies unknown.
