Part of Periodicals, I

An important issue of Poetry for its one poem of Sandburg’s “Iron,” following the first publication of his poetry in the March 1914 issue, “Chicago Poems.” The 1914 issues of poetry saw the first of Sandburg’s poetic, non-journalistic publications, and in a magazine based, as he was, in Chicago, for which he won the Helen Haire Levinson Poetry Prize. Light water mark to bottom edge of covers not affecting the text-block; a little foxing on the fore-edge of the front cover, and apart from that a beautiful, crisp copy of this issue.
