7 Little Reviews containing Ulysses

Ulysses first appeared in The Little Review in March 1918 and continued serialisation for a total of 23 issues until editors Margaret Anderson and Jane Heap (jh) were charged with publishing obscene content after the appearance of the Nauticaa episode in April 1920. Four issues, of which one is included here, were burnt by the US Post Office. The text would not appear again or in full until 1922 when it was published by Sylvia Beach at Shakespeare & Company, Paris, whereon Ezra Pound would publish his calendar, “Year 1 p.s.U.” [post scriptum Ulysses].
