Ezra Pound, contributor

Published London: The St Catherine Press, 1912

44pp.; 24.4 x 18.5 cm. Brown paper wraps printed in black.

Part of Periodicals, I

From the library of A. David Moody

The Poetry Review, Number II, containing a number of contributions from EP, being Oboes (I. For a beery voice; II. After Heine; III. An Immorality)—Sub mare—L’Invitation—Dieu! Qu’il la fait—Δώρια, each appearing here for the first time. “Sub mare”, “Dieu! Qu’il la fait”, and “Δώρια” next appear in Ripostes, October 1912; “L’Invitation” not until the Collected Early Poems, 1976; and of “Oboes”, “An Immorality” appeared in Ripostes apart from the other two, which appeared without their “Immorality” in Umbra, 1920. An appeasing large paper production which unfortunately prints Pound’s verse in a smaller quotation size. A very good copy; small break to wraps at bottom of spine, pencil annotation “£1” to both front cover and contents page; small bump along top edge. Lay in on p.70-71 advertising drawings by Henry Ospovat, with a little foxing around there. Publisher’s errata for the January issue laid into p.82-3. Gallup C39.
